  1. You’re a man close to or over the age of 35.

The workout features a belly tucking movement that is often used in Pilates, so you can work your abs without getting on the floor.

The dances are done barefoot and takes you through 5 stages. Nia integrates martial arts, dance arts and healing arts for a cardiovascular aerobic workout and whole body conditioning.

6. Turbo Jam

Turbo Jam is another workout from Beachbody Fitness and features trainer Chalene Johnson. The workouts promise to burn up to 1000 calories per hour.

The Turbo Jam training targets your upper body, low body and abs with a combination of cardio, kickboxing, body sculpting and dance moves set to some of the hottest music ever.

7. Yoga Booty Ballet

Finally, there is Yoga Booty Ballet,  another DVD based dance workout from Beachbody Fitness. The training is based on their ABC formula that targets the Abs, Booty with Cardio training.

They incorporate jazz dance, ballet and other forms of dance set to salsa, hip hop and other popular music for a full body workout.

50 Cent Weight Loss For Things Fall Apart Role

50 cent appears to be doing some crazy sh** lately for the sake of his movie career. First I heard he was having his tattoos removed so that he could get better roles.

We’ve always been accustomed to the chiseled, tatted up 50 cent but now the new 50 cent looks like hes been smoking illegal drugs.

Whether you think that he’s just immersing himself in the roles he choses or he’s a hip hop industry sellout, one thing is sure to me – 50′s credibility as a rapper will never be the same and he is taking Hollywood more seriously that his rap career.

Now kids, although 50 went from 214 pounds to 160, this is not the way to lose weight at all. 50 admits he was starving on his liquid diet. Better to take a more healthy approach where you will never be hungry and still burn off that excess fat.

How To Lose Fat From Your Arms

The following is an article that was written by author and fitness trainer Jon Benson. You may know Jon Benson as the author of the Every Other Day Diet. I was given permission to share this article about losing arm flab with you.

… and guys, listen up:  You are not immune to arm flab. Even if your don’t have any, the tips I’m about to give will help you build stronger arms.

She has two pages in Fit Over 40… too much to cover in an email… but here’s the basics to get you started:

1. You have to get your nutrition down pat. Most people think that the flab on their arms (or anywhere for that matter) can be solved by “turning it into muscle.”

This is not true folks. Fat does not turn into “anything”. It is used for energy. Period.

Muscle is muscle. Fat is fat.

You must use low-insulin nutrition like I recommend in all my books, including Fit Over 40, to lower your bodyfat. For ladies, the back-of-the-arm bodyfat is often the last bit to go.

But I promise — it will go. I can go for anyone. Marty Web and dozens of other ladies in Fit Over 40 prove that in living color… and they share how they did it.

Low-insulin nutrition means eating more protein-rich foods, foods that are not processed, and plenty of tasty veggies. But it does not mean you cannot have your pizza and burgers here and there. I do every week and my bodyfat is low.

2. You must train your triceps. The back of the arm is made of three muscles called the “triceps”. You have a long head, a medial head and a lateral head that form the triceps muscle group.

If you cannot access a gym, you can do plain-old pushups to work all three heads of the triceps. Here’s a few tips. First, if you cannot do a pushup with your legs straight, start by doing them on your knees. Work up to straight-legged pushups.

Second, do one third of your reps with your hands facing away from your body, one third with your hands facing toward your body (fingers pointing toward you) and the final third with your hands in the “normal” pushup position, facing the same direction as your body. This will work the various heads nicely.

3. Finally, you have to have a role model. Find someone like Marty who has lost their wings and use their success to inspire you.

Put these three things together and you too will be “grounded” — wingless, but with a lovely pair of arms that never jiggle and look fantastic.

Should You Use Laxatives to Lose Weight?

Have you been thinking about using laxatives to lose weight?

I’ll tell you right now – stop thinking about it. Not only is using laxatives for weight loss dangerous, it also does not help one bit.

I’ll tell you why.

Laxatives and their Real Use

Before I tell you why laxatives are ineffective in helping you lose weight, lets first take a look at the real use of laxatives.

Laxatives, as you may already know, are designed to aid in getting bowel movements ie. when you’re constipated. They may be natural (certain foods) or in drug form and works by softening the stool so that it can be easily released from the large intestines and colon.

Overusing or abusing laxatives can result in diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome and sometimes kidney failure. They are only meant to be used as an immediate solution to a short termed problem. Always follow the directions on the package or consult a doctor in the case appears to be more serious.

This may not apply to you since you’re not necessarily constipated but just want to lose some weight with this method.

Laxatives and Weight Loss

So how will laxatives affect you if you use it for the purpose of weight loss?

When you use laxatives, stored waste is expelled from the bowels along with water from the body. It may appear as though you have lost weight but that weight is only from the expelled waste and some water loss. True weight loss only burns fat from your body which clearly doesn’t happen here.

You are only going to damage your body by taking laxatives. In the absence of waste the laxatives drain you of water and overworks your empty bowels. You end up becoming dehydrated and lose whatever nutrients your body might need. To add insult to injury, you haven’t lost any real weight.

What now?

You need to ask yourself the real reason you considered using laxatives to lose weight.

Is it that you’ve tried everything and need a faster solution? A shortcut, maybe? Is it that nothing else that you’ve tried works?

The truth is there are no shortcuts to healthy and efficient weight loss. A healthy diet and lifestyle changes work and if you commit to doing something everyday to reach a set goal then you can lose weight. Not only that, you can also keep it off.

Laxatives are ineffective and very dangerous if you’re going to use it for the purpose of weight loss.

How To Have a Skinnier Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving dinner, a time for showing appreciation and giving thanks for the wonderful things in life.

Its also a time where you can really mess up your goal of losing weight. The average American packs on some pounds from the rich holiday food available at the table and as much as it may be instantly gratifying, some actually regret that they had indulge as much.

However, if you’re going to be preparing the meals yourself, there are some things you could do to have a skinnier Thanksgiving dinner. Some of these tips are outlined in the video below.

I think its interesting that some slim women with healthy weights seem to think that they’re fat. They will throw a fit if the scale only moves a half a pound.They don’t consider how lucky they are to have such good genes.

Morning Banana Diet – Japan’s Craze

bananasThe Morning Banana Diet is a rather new diet craze thats going on in Japan. The diet was created in Osaka, by a pharmacist named Sumiko Watanabe who wanted her husband to lose weight and increase his metabolism.

The Morning Banana Diet which is very easy to follow goes like this:

1. Have one or more bananas in the morning for breakfast with room temperature water.

2. For lunch you can have anything

3. Eat dinner before 8pm and you can also have anything.

4. You can have a snack in between lunch and dinner but no dessert after meals and you must to go to bed before midnight.

Simple enough to follow.

Sumiko’s husband lost an amazing 37 lbs using the Morning Banana Diet and popularized it on a large Japanese social network.

Dangers of the Morning Banana Diet

Like all fad diets you can actually lose weight but not without paying a price. There are always hidden dangers to diets like the Morning Banana Diet.

A Japanese Professor at the Niigata University School of Medicine, Masahiko Okada pulled the Morning Banana diet apart.

In any diet you need three essential nutrients daily for the human body to function. Carbohydrates, fat and protein need to be balanced with a daily calorie intake. This is the golden rule of dieting.
